IRCO Automation delivers a 12,000 lb capacity 3-axis smart weld positioner. Integrated with smart positioning technology, this model is a stepping stone from manual, traditional positioners to robotics.

IRCO Automation, an Ontario-based business, has been selected by BAE Systems to design, fabricate and install a complete line of mechanized welding and positioning systems to help make submarine missile tubes for the United States Navy’s Virginia class submarines, the new backbone of the United States submarine force.

IRCO Automation is the designer and manufacturer of the SSC’s Automatic Panel Welder and the Hull Assembly Line (HAL) trolley system, installed at Textron Systems’ New Orleans Shipyard. In a second project phase, IRCO recently delivered three gantries, each with separate functions including marking, cutting, tacking and finish weld procedures. The three gantries were integrated with the customized trolley system to enable the transfer of the assembled craft through the production line.

Cantilevered Turning Rolls for Welding Boilers

IRCO recently delivered a set of Cantilevered Turning Rolls for a manufacturer of boilers and small pressure vessels. The paired set is capable of turning up to 70,000 lb and is specifically designed to rotate boilers during the welding of end-caps.

This week’s feature product is the TRSA: Self-Aligning Turning Rolls. Our latest set was sold as part of a tank fit-up system that will be used to build custom storage tanks for industrial applications. IRCO’s Self-Aligning Turning Rolls are designed to support tanks, vessels or large diameter pipes and can handle weights of up to 750,000 lb.
